The first workshop on LLMs for the Italian language organized in Rome by FAIR

In the framework of the PNRR project Future Artificial Intelligence Research – FAIR, Prof. Roberto Navigli (Sapienza University of Rome) and Prof. Rita Cucchiara (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and CNR) organized the first workshop on the development of Large Language Models (LLMs) for the Italian language, marking the initial phase in building an Italian and multilingual Large Multimodal Model.

The event was held on Monday, December 18, at the Aula Magna of the Department of Computer, Control and Management Engineering “Antonio Ruberti” at Sapienza University of Rome.

The event, whose agenda is available here, featured several outstanding international speakers on the topic: Marta Villegas (Barcelona Supercomputing Center), Georg Rehm, Malte Ostendorff and Pedro Ortiz (DFKI), Barry Haddow (University of Edinburgh), Sampo Pyysalo (University of Turku), Magnus Sahlgren (AI Sweden).
