SINTESI – Intelligent and Secure Cyber-Physical Systems for Healthcare, Industry and Society is officially getting underway. The project is promoted by Fondazione FAIR, with Fondazione SERICS as co-proponent, and brings together 17 partners, including universities, research organisations and companies, within the framework of the National Research, Innovation and Competitiveness Programme for the Green and Digital Transition 2021–2027.
On 23 September 2026, the National Research Council (CNR) in Rome will host the project’s first working session, dedicated to the operational launch of activities, the sharing of the project timeline and the alignment of the different partners involved.
SINTESI aims to bring together scientific, technological and industrial expertise around the development of intelligent and secure cyber-physical systems, with applications ranging from healthcare and industry to disinformation and cognitive security. One of the project’s main outcomes will be the creation of a stable, distributed Innovation Hub, with five physical nodes in Catania, Naples, Salerno, Bari and Rende. Designed to remain operational beyond the duration of SINTESI, the Hub will connect expertise, infrastructure and services to support innovation ecosystems across Southern Italy.
The meeting will be opened by Marco Conti, President of Fondazione FAIR, and will continue with presentations of the project’s main areas of activity. The morning session will focus on Healthcare, Industr-IA, disinformation and cognitive security, and technology transfer, alongside a session dedicated to project coordination and management.
In the afternoon, the focus will shift to the development of the distributed Innovation Hub, with presentations of the physical nodes and an alignment session on its architecture, services, responsibilities and workflows.
The final part of the day will focus on skills development, with sessions dedicated to methodological and application-oriented courses and the definition of the next operational steps.
The kick-off meeting will provide an important opportunity to bring together the different components of the partnership and marks the concrete start of the joint work, with the aim of translating the project framework into shared activities, responsibilities and results.
