Description
The SINTESI project — Intelligent and Secure Cyber-Physical Systems for Healthcare, Industry, and Society* — is an industrial research and experimental development initiative funded under the PON Research and Innovation 2021–2027 program. It is structured around three complementary actions covering the entire innovation pipeline: from applied research, to validation, through to competency building.
Led by Fondazione FAIR in collaboration with Fondazione SERICS, the project represents an evolution of activities initiated under the PNRR, with the goal of transferring laboratory-validated technologies into real operational applications.
SINTESI develops intelligent, reliable, and secure cyber-physical systems capable of operating in complex and dynamic environments, through an integrated approach combining academic research, industrial innovation, and technology transfer. The project capitalizes on the results of the FAIR and SERICS extended partnerships, transforming research prototypes into high-impact operational solutions.
The project is organized around three strategic areas:
- Digital health: Artificial intelligence platforms for early diagnosis, personalized medicine, and clinical decision support
- Digital transition and industry: Intelligent and collaborative robotic systems for Industry 5.0
- Security of social systems: Solutions to counter disinformation and protect cognitive security
The overarching goal is to bridge the gap between research and application, bringing technologies to a high level of maturity (TRL 7–8) and fostering their adoption in real operational contexts.
