Innovation Grant

The Innovation Grant program of Fondazione FAIR supports the development and experimentation of advanced Artificial Intelligence solutions, promoted by a selected group of national companies operating in strategic sectors.

During the reference period, industrial research and experimental development projects were funded by FAIR’s 7 large partner companies, with the aim of accelerating technology transfer and fostering AI adoption in high-impact application contexts.

The initiatives cover a broad spectrum of areas, including:

  • Healthcare and advanced diagnostics
  • Finance and regulatory compliance
  • Industry and smart manufacturing
  • Energy and sustainability
  • Aerospace and security
  • Generative artificial intelligence and cognitive systems

The projects are distinguished by a strongly applied approach, with the development of prototypes, platforms, and advanced models, and with technology readiness levels growing toward real operational contexts.

Bracco Imaging S.p.A.
Develops Artificial Intelligence solutions for advanced medical imaging diagnostics. The SMARTeR project introduces innovative AI models to improve radiological image quality and support more precise, personalized diagnoses.

Deloitte Consulting S.r.l. Società Benefit
Applies Artificial Intelligence to complex systems in the energy and industrial sectors. The projects develop predictive models and advanced analytics systems, combining AI and privacy-preserving approaches to support operational decision-making and process optimization.

Expert.ai S.p.A.
Develops cognitive AI systems for advanced information analysis. The ReSpiRA project builds platforms based on LLMs, knowledge graphs, and expert systems for question answering and decision support in complex contexts.

Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A.
Promotes the responsible adoption of Artificial Intelligence in the financial sector. The projects develop tools for AI governance, compliance, and risk assessment, with particular focus on the AI Act and generative technologies.

Leonardo S.p.A.
Develops AI applications for security, defense, and aerospace. The projects introduce autonomous and adaptive systems for complex scenarios, including intelligent drones and advanced solutions for radar data processing and fusion.

Lutech S.p.A.
Enables digital transformation through Artificial Intelligence solutions integrated into complex systems. The projects develop AI-based platforms and services for process automation, advanced data analytics, and decision support, with a strong focus on industrial adoption and solution scalability.

STMicroelectronics S.r.l.
Develops intelligent systems for robotics and advanced automation.
The SCIROCO project introduces continual learning models for swarms of collaborative robots, enabling new AI-based industrial applications.
