{"id":4536,"date":"2024-04-09T16:22:12","date_gmt":"2024-04-09T14:22:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fondazione-fair.it\/?p=4536"},"modified":"2026-04-24T15:14:31","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T13:14:31","slug":"cascade-calls-for-ai-projects-open-opportunities-and-upcoming-releases","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fondazione-fair.it\/en\/news\/cascade-calls-for-ai-projects-open-opportunities-and-upcoming-releases\/","title":{"rendered":"Cascade calls for AI projects: open opportunities and upcoming releases"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The latest FAIR (Future Artificial Intelligence Research) cascade calls dedicated to universities and research centers are still being published.<\/p>\n<p>Today marks the release of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uniroma1.it\/it\/pagina\/bando-cascata-pe1-future-artificial-intelligence-research-fair\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the cascade call<\/a><\/strong> for Universities and Research Institutions under <a href=\"https:\/\/fondazione-fair.it\/en\/spoke\/spoke-5-high-quality-ai\/\"><strong>Spoke 5 \u2013 High-quality AI<\/strong><\/a>, coordinated by Sapienza University of Rome, focusing on four research objectives:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Planning and human-AI teaming<\/li>\n<li>Data-centric artificial intelligence<\/li>\n<li>Understanding and processing multimodal content<\/li>\n<li>Pilot projects and demonstrations<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The call has a total budget of approximately \u20ac1.4 million, part of which is allocated to the development of Southern Italy, and will remain open <strong>until 5:00 PM on May 7, 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/fondazione-fair.it\/en\/spoke\/spoke-3-resilient-ai\/\">Spoke 3 \u2013 Resilient AI<\/a><\/strong>, the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ricerca.unina.it\/bandiacascata\/bandi-fair\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cascade call<\/a><\/strong> for Universities and Research Institutions is still open, with a deadline of <strong>April 15, 2024<\/strong>. The call has a total budget of <strong>over \u20ac2 million<\/strong> across six research objectives:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Resilient AI through pre-processing and HCI techniques<\/li>\n<li>Dealing with multimodal and noisy datasets<\/li>\n<li>AI to support software developers<\/li>\n<li>Resilient AI in distributed architectures<\/li>\n<li>AI systems in challenging environments<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>This call is reserved for applicants based in Southern Italy, meaning that the research activity must be carried out in Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Molise, Puglia, Sardinia, or Sicily.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/fondazione-fair.it\/en\/spoke\/spoke-6-symbiotic-ai\/\">Spoke 6 \u2013 Symbiotic AI<\/a><\/strong> has instead launched <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uniba.it\/it\/ricerca\/pnrr\/bandi-a-cascata\/emanati-da-uniba\/progetto-fair\/dr-1202-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the first cascade call<\/a> dedicated to large, medium, and small enterprises, as well as startups<\/strong>. In this case, the initiative aims to fund up to <strong>8 industrial research projects<\/strong>, experimental development activities, and feasibility studies carried out by companies.<br \/>\nThe call, coordinated by the University of Bari \u201cAldo Moro,\u201d is open <strong>until 12:00 PM on May 3, 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The remaining nine calls launched by the spokes for companies will be published between April and May and will be promptly available on the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/fondazione-fair.it\/en\/cascade-calls\/\">FAIR Foundation website<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The latest FAIR (Future Artificial Intelligence Research) cascade calls dedicated to universities and research centers are still being published.
