FAIR takes its steps from current artificial intelligence, from its various theoretical, modeling and engineering aspects, but is aimed towards the future, with the ambition of contributing to addressing research questions, methodologies, models, technologies, without ignoring ethical and legal rules, and sustainability issues<\/strong> in a broad sense, not just environmental.<\/p>\n

The FAIR approach follows a holistic, multidisciplinary approach, aimed at a profound rethinking of the foundations of AI, that goes hand in hand with investigating the social impact of the new forms of AI. FAIR researchers aim at making artificial intelligence systems capable of interacting and collaborating with humans<\/strong>, aware of their own limitations and able to adapt to new situations, and interact appropriately in complex social settings, of being aware of their perimeters of security and trust, and of being attentive to the environmental and social impact<\/strong> that their implementation and execution may entail.<\/p>\n

To achieve this ambitious goals<\/strong>, the FAIR project has given itself a flexible and integrated structure according to a Hub & Spoke<\/i> model: the Foundation is the hub, the implementing body, and carries out its activity in collaboration with the Spokes, the implementing bodies involved in the implementation of the research program.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>
